Wedding Photography & Cinematography in Barmer by Shree Jagdamba Studio

What a wedding photographer in Barmer should actually give you.

A Marwari wedding does not wait for anyone. The moment your mother's face changes during the vidaai lasts about four seconds, and it happens once. Everything we do is arranged around not missing those four seconds.

We shoot candid — which in practice means we spend the day reading the room rather than interrupting it. You will notice us during the portraits and the family group photographs, because those need direction. For the rest of it, the aim is that you forget we are there at all.

We photograph weddings across Jodhpur and the wider Marwar region: haveli courtyards in the old city, resort lawns off the Pali road, farmhouse ceremonies, hotel banquets and the full Rajput and Marwari ritual sequence. Every one needs a slightly different approach, which is why we do not sell a single fixed package.

What's Included

Everything you get

How It Works

From first message to final album

  1. 01

    Availability and date hold

Message us with your dates first — availability is the only thing that cannot be negotiated. Peak-season dates in Jodhpur go 8 to 12 months ahead. We hold a date for 7 days without obligation while you decide.

  2. 02

    Planning and venue recce

About a month out we build a running order with you: function timings, key family members we must not miss, and ritual sequences that vary between Rajput, Marwari, Bishnoi and Jain families. We visit the venue to plan light and positions in advance.

  3. 03

    The wedding days

The team arrives before the first function and stays until the last one ends. One photographer stays with the bride, one with the groom, and the cinematographers work independently. We carry backup bodies, backup lighting and backup cards — a wedding does not offer a second take.

  4. 04

    Post-production

Social teaser within 48 hours while everyone is still talking about the day. Full retouched gallery in 3–4 weeks. The wedding film takes 6–8 weeks because it is genuinely edited rather than assembled.

FAQ

Wedding Photography in Barmer — your questions

How far in advance do weddings get booked in Jodhpur?

Peak season here runs October to March, and those dates go 8 to 12 months ahead — the same window destination couples book the palaces and havelis. Off-season dates are usually available at 3 to 4 months. If your date is close, message us anyway; cancellations happen.

How many photographers will actually be at our wedding?

Two to four, depending on guest count and how many functions run in parallel. One photographer physically cannot cover a bride's tayyari and a groom's baraat at the same time, so we scale the team to the event rather than the other way round.

When do we get our photos and wedding film?

A 60-second social teaser within 48 hours of the ceremony. The full retouched gallery in 3 to 4 weeks. The cinematic film in 6 to 8 weeks. If you need something sooner for a reception, tell us and we will prioritise it.

Do you know the Marwari and Rajput ritual sequences?

Yes — pithi, mahira, toran, hathleva, pheras, vidaai. Knowing what comes next is the difference between photographing a ritual and reacting to it a second too late. We still confirm the running order with your family, because every community and every household does it slightly differently.

What happens if a photographer falls ill on our wedding day?

We work as a team rather than as individuals, and we keep a network of trusted photographers across Rajasthan for exactly this. Your wedding gets covered by a full team regardless.

Do you shoot traditional posed photos as well as candid?

Both, always. Candid coverage is what makes an album feel alive, but your grandparents want a properly composed family photograph where everyone is looking at the camera. We schedule dedicated time for those rather than squeezing them in.

How much does a wedding photographer cost?

It depends on days, functions and team size — a single-day ceremony and a four-day celebration are genuinely different jobs. Send your dates and function list and you will get an itemised quote with nothing hidden in it.
